Goose is collecting donations for Giving Kitchen, an organization that started with chef Ryan Hidinger, an Indiana native and friend of many of us in the local food community since his first cooking home was Indy with chef Greg Hardesty.
Ryan and his wife Jen later moved to Atlanta and pursued their dream of opening their own restaurant until Ryan's devastating, stage-four cancer diagnosis. The overwhelmingly generous response to help Ryan turned from a fight to save one life into a network that fights to save thousands, thanks to the ongoing work of Jen, friends, family, colleagues, and donors.
Giving Kitchen helps our fellow food service workers experiencing a crisis with emergency financial support and a network of community resources. Since 2013 they’ve been able to assist well over 9,000 workers in restaurants, catering, concessions, cafeterias, bars, tap rooms, and food trucks.
